It's getting drafty in here!
Lets see what the brain trust has in store for this draft in just a few minutes
Those are some pretty awesome highlights! It will be interesting to see if he looks as explosive against the big boys and with Hewey, Dewey, and Louie blocking for him. I don't see Mr Holding or Mr Injuries opening the kinds of holes we see in these clips.
I generally like the picks. We will see how they turn out.
I guess that Elway and I have different opinions of the talent at OT and ILB. I think these positions have been a weakness since the Super Bowl win. Apparently Elway has a higher opinion of Bolles and Davis than I do. We will see how that works out too.
I'm glad that we are going all in on Drew Lock. We trying to build around him with new weapons and speed. We are not bringing in any other QB to cause a distraction. I hope to see Rypien step up and look promising. Did not really get to see much of him last year. Would be nice to have a young backup that shows promise. Kind of like a Kubiak situation behind Elway.
There must be some really bad LTs. So far in his career he’s been flagged 34 times for holding and has given up 15 1/2 sacks. 46 penalties total. I was actually surprised that his holding total was that low. I doubt that Wilkinson is the answer though. Our best hope is probably that having his option declined will light a fire under his ass.
A bunch of 5th year players not optioned. I hope Bolles and Lindsey both play with a chip on their shoulder because of getting called out as not good enough.
Bolles is an average tackle, I wouldn't have minded too much if we optioned him at average pay but I do like giving him a kick in the butt. Let us hope he has an unreal year.
I agree Gould. Poo. I think they played well, but The One penalty negating the interception really hurt and the fact that they kept snapping the ball at the end of the game with lots of time left on the play clock.
I hate the stupid NFL for having late game Monday night. Sad thing is, I was pretty sure I knew how it was going to end with five minutes left in the game. Me like a glutton for punishment stayed up to watch it
Same, after 4 misses I knew he would get the chance to win it and he did. But a lot to work with. Losing on a late FG against a team that went deep into the playoffs missing your two best players isn't bad.
AC Sprain, landed on it on a sack, gone for 2-6 weeks :( it was his throwing arm I believe.
Showed good fight today, injuries not helping. Tough to start the season against 3 potential playoff teams, don't see us getting a win until the Jets. :(
I don't think all is lost yet this season. I've seen many teams make the playoffs after starting out on an 0-fer run. We have looked decent and played tough against good teams. Would've been nice to win the home game, although home field doesn't have as big of impact this year.
Not a fan of allowing protest during national anthem. I'm fine with doing during the kickoffs.
Digger, I won't question your optimism regarding the season or argue with it. Good for you.
On the respectful kneeling during the National Anthem, I have talked to many Veterans and an overwhelming majority have indicated to me that they do not consider it disrespectful to kneel during the anthem to call attention to the systemic racism in the US. I've also seen many war veterans on TV say the same thing, although I'm sure, in todays world, that it matters which network you watch.
Good defense kept us in it. Lock didn’t look too bad till the intercepts, his ball placement had been good all game but his receivers couldn’t make tough grabs, pats d was good in coverage. The interceptions at the end were poor reads. Good to get a good win against a team like the pats.
I agree, Lock had 3/4ths of a good game but that 4th qtr stunk. Not all on Drew, some dropped balls and poor play calls by Schumur contributed to the poor numbers and INTs. On to KC and hopefully we can match what the Raiders did to KC last week... odds are against us though but we will be getting some key players back like Fant, A.J. Bouye, Dre'mont, Wilkinson and some others including Gordon if he isn't suspended by then and maybe Hamler (likely not though). With Wilkinson and Schlottman suited up, maybe sitting Risner for the week won't be as much of a loss for the O-line. Bolles has been having an outstanding year - that helps A LOT!
I was worried about this team after the first half but man what a much better second half. I can see a future with the team that played in the second. Good win against the chargers.
Amazing win against the Chargers, Lock moved up a level after looking like he was a bust... still don't know for sure but I'm rooting for him. Seems like Bronco's coaching has a knack for screwing up young QB talent, destroying any raw talent potential they originally may have had. Unlike coaches like Bill Belichick, Pete Carroll and Andy Reid. I give you Os, Lynch, Siemian, Kelly and Slotter as my only proof and could add experienced QBs like Keenum and Flacco who did well under other coaches but looked like shit once Denver's coaching hacks got a hold of them. I could be wrong but how do other coaches get production out of so-so QBs (i.e. Alex Smith under Andy Reid) but just the opposite happens to QBs in Denver? I don't know, Lock looked so confident and decisive in 2019, like he could quickly and calmly make the reads and just as quickly launch the ball accurately on time and on target... whereas after the new "improved" coaching now has him looking confused, hesitant and insecure about what he's doing. Today's game, the 1st half Lock was a mess and then something "switched on" in the 2nd half and he pulls out a 21 point come from behind win that went down to the final second of the game. Who knows? Maybe it just suddenly "clicked" or maybe it was just a fluke? Bolles was another quandary today, going from the worst LT in the league the last 3 years to the top LT this year and then today, suddenly reverting back to the worst (at least in the first half)... WTFIUPWT? I hope we don't go on a roller coaster season of which Broncos are going to show up, the good, the bad or the ugly! LOL! At least we are now 3-4 with the Falcons coming next and a decent chance of getting to 4-4 if the good Lock and Bolles dress.
I have to admit that I turned it off at halftime. I "watched" the last five min or so on gameday while at the hospital visiting my wife. I've always had more hope for the second half of the year. Without training camp and a new offensive system (AGAIN!) we seemed destined to struggle as the rookies learned and the team gelled.
To put it in perspective, none on that list of QBs 1st have done anything outside Denver and those vets have done nothing since leaving here. We have just been really unlucky with the QB talent that has come through the building.
Lock has potential but he needs confidence. He got it back in the 2nd half. It does help when Bosa gets hurt and doesn't play the 4th quarter. The OL finally could get Lock protection and he looked great in the pocket.
Once you ruin a QB, getting him up to franchise or even starter position again by benching, trading or cutting due to poor performance is the exception and not normally achieved... so saying the QBs I mentioned didn't go on to be great elsewhere is kinda empty. There have been players (QBs among them) benched, cut or traded by other teams (including the Broncos) who have gone on to shine with other teams and coaching. So saying it's just bad luck isn't always so either - let's just say it's maybe a mixture of both. Like players, coaches can turn it around too. If they are fucking up, they can change their techniques and mental approach and get positive results - if they have the talent and desire to do so, just like players. Some are just stubborn, stupid or untalented - just like players. All I know is the Broncos have been shitty since 2015 and before that, going back to the last few years of Red Miller, the coaching has been above average (minus the McDipshit 2 years) or short lived.
Also, I agree that side-lining Bosa made a big difference but the play calling from Schumur changed too. Whatever it was, it worked and I hope it carries over.
We need second half Lock in the first and we will win some games this year. Also Lock is way better in the pocket so far this year. Bummer they can't get any protection for him.
It's where it all starts and we have been preaching it for years, to no avail. Seems Elway's failures are linked to what he should know best, top QB and protection of that top QB. Remember when he said one unit would be great? I think he intended that to be the defense. It won us a SB, but now we are hurting bad on both sides of the ball. Transition years, for sure.
Lock isn’t doing well under pressure, I don’t mind he is still slinging it but his decisions need to be better. Overall he is learning and the line play hasn’t been great so hard to evaluate.
I wonder if setting him for a game or two would help with his decision making. I remember Reeves setting Elway early in his career when he was struggling. I can’t see how that would hurt him at all. Might even save his life for next year When we hopefully have a better O line.
Hard to say what would be best for him, he has only played 12 pro games so you would definitely want to see more out of him. If he is healthy you have to play him, but if he has cracked ribs maybe not, though seems Brees played with cracked ribs this week.
Ya, we always get the shit end of the stick, not to mention Goodell taking away our bi week for the Pats... 2020 will be rated about 20 notches BELOW the strike shortened year and Goodell hates the Broncos!
Is it time to sell the team and get an owner to represents the Broncos? Doesn't seem like the Bowlen kids are going to stop squabbling and we can't continue without representation at the highest level of the NFL or the screw jobs will continue.
It looks like the successor is going to be Brittany but all the other children will have to agree to that. But they all want to get paid (especially Beth). So sale is more than likely. :(
At this point, I really don't care who the owner is as long as 1) the team stays in Denver, 2) the new owner has enough $$$ so that $$$ is NEVER an issue in making the team competitive and 3) whoever it is isn't a jerk, ignorant about the game or running a team and winning is #1 objective.
The way it is now, I don't like Joe Ellis, I'm tired of the family backstabbing bickering, the team has had no direction since Pat lost his mind and the Broncos are becoming a joke that gets pushed around by a clown like Goodell. It's time, the "trust" was meant to be a bridge to the next in line - not a long term solution... and frankly, I have ZERO faith in any of the Bowlens taking over. IMO, none of them are qualified, I mean really can anyone see Brittany, Beth, Amie, John or any of the 7 kids as smart, savvy, strong, NFL knowledgable, classy or wealthy enough to run a 1st class NFL team? I don't, any one of them in charge makes me uncertain.
Offense couldn't sustain drives, defense couldn't prevent them. Overall a bad day in the office.
Lock didn't get much help today and guys struggled to get open, yes he could be better but the bills D was good today.
I'm not sure what the future holds but these are Lock's stats over his first 16 games (a seasons worth).
ATT 511, Comp 305, Pct 59.69, Yards 3350, Avg 6.6, TD 21, INT 16, Sacks 20
Pretty compare to others in a rookie year. Maybe should do better with only 20 sacks but you could see potential for growth. I think he gets another year hopefully with an offseason. Then make a decision in a year about direction (by then probably have a new owner and management).
Man. Just thinking back on the shit show since they took over for a sick Pat. Actually McD was before them. Crazy. Somehow we got another title squeezed in there tough.
So Elway resigned as GM but is still President of football operations... coincidently, Kubiak announced he's retiring as the Raven's OC. Could Kubes be the next GM? Maybe Manning? Just saying those 2 because everyone else will wonder it too.
Seems like a promotion/firing all in the same go. It makes sense, can't fire John outright but he needs some help. Most of the names being talked about are up and coming guys with Broncos ties that have been successful at other clubs. That isn't a bad start.
This is a good first step. Now get through the trial so a new owner can come in, clean house and start a new direction for the Broncos. I'll guess Elway retires for good when the new owner comes in.
I don't understand why the Broncos have become so cheap. We can only hire cheap head coaches and cheap GM's, neither having experience as a head coach or GM.
First 3 going to script.
ReplyDeleteThe surprises could start with the next couple of picks as the price to move up starts to drop.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that the dolphins taking Tua at five is a surprise< but sure hope for the Dolphins sake he doesn't end up a glass Joe.
ReplyDeleteYeah with Brady gone that team may have a chance.
ReplyDeleteI guess Hebert to the Chargers was expected, but i don't think hes THAT good. Lets hope that start a QB rush and some better players fall to 15.
ReplyDeleteYeah looking good with Tackles and WR on the board.
ReplyDeleteCorner to Jags.
ReplyDeleteThere goes the second tackle. Still no receivers. Everyone must be bargain hunting in the strong receiver class.
ReplyDeleteRun on tackles now.
ReplyDeleteHere comes the wide receiver run.
ReplyDeleteYep Ruggs to Raiders makes sense for them.
ReplyDeleteBucs moving up to stop us getting the tackle?
ReplyDeletethe first surprise!
ReplyDeleteTop tier tackles are gone, but there should be one of the top wide outs available.
ReplyDeleteAlso Kinlaw. If Jeudy goes I think we could move down as I don't think Lamb fits our character.
ReplyDeleteWow Kinlaw gone.
ReplyDeleteSo do we go WR now?
ReplyDeleteDrum roll please.....
ReplyDeleteThere we go! Love that pick!!
ReplyDeleteYep Jerry is a good pick. I like him the most of the big 4 WR.
ReplyDeleteCB to Raiders.
ReplyDeleteMurray to Chargers is a great pick for them. Their D is going to be good.
ReplyDeleteLove to Packers was the biggest shock. Solid first night for us, tomorrow is the big night.
ReplyDeleteA wouldn't mind Josh Jones or Cush in the 2nd, OL help would be nice.
ReplyDelete3 picks round 3 today. I like that.
ReplyDeleteDouble downed on WR. KJ Halmer.
ReplyDeleteAnother receiver?? best player available or what?? I'm surprised.
ReplyDeleteYeah not sure about this one. I can understand it from a scheme perspective. We need to get faster and stretch the field.
ReplyDeleteInteresting both Josh Jones and Mims are sliding.
I thought we would have added more size at WR but gone for smaller and speed.
ReplyDeleteI like each of our first 2 picks individually but do not like them together, especially with all of our other needs, like OL, CB and ILB,
ReplyDeleteI don't see Halmer as the best player available there either.
ReplyDeleteMan, its a long time between picks!
ReplyDeleteHamler had a 2nd round grade so it isn't a reach but yeah I want a tackle and ILB so hopefully get them in the next 3.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to take Cush here.
ReplyDeleteOk corner.
ReplyDeletea position we needed for sure. 10th corner taken.
ReplyDeleteProduction wasn't great but he has size and speed. All the physical attributes you look for.
ReplyDeletehopefully he's trainable. if he has the skills but not results he might learn some better techniques and at least contribute.
ReplyDeleteI have faith in Fangio.
Deletegood point. Fangio always finds talent on D.
DeleteRaiders just took 2 receivers to go with Ruggs yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThere we go, got Cush.
ReplyDeletelike that pick a lot!
ReplyDeleteYep definitely, that is our starting center.
DeleteI wouldn't mind Jacob Phillips or Davion Taylor for our last pick.
ReplyDeleteI feel pretty good a out our offensive selections. Just thought we'd prioritize CB and LBs a little higher.
ReplyDeleteTrue but there are also some options in FA for CBs and ILBs we could look at.
DeleteLast I saw we had right at 22 mil cap space left, so we can at least get some depth with those types.
DeleteAlso a surprise pick could be Eason, we do need a backup QB.
ReplyDeleteActually I think this will be DT.
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone like Leki Fotu for NT.
Deleteyou were right on the position hopefully another Fangio pick.
ReplyDeleteAh there we go, Agim DT.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say him or Fotu but went with Fotu as a NT. I like this pick for a DT pass rusher.
ReplyDeleteAlso 5 picks in the top 100 is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThere goes Phillips to Browns. I liked him.
ReplyDeleteI'm so stupid. I didn't see the new post. Couldn't figure out why nobody was commenting. Haha. No OT or ILB picked at all. Surprising to me.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. Welcome to the two man Broncos draft review page on the internet! With guest appearances by OBF and now Digger!
DeleteHahaha :)
DeleteWe got an ILB today. I like our picks, a lot of good size and athleticism. Be interesting to see if they can develop these guys.
https://broncoswire.usatoday.com/2020/04/26/denver-broncos-check-out-highlights-of-new-rb-levante-bellamy/
ReplyDeleteThis undrafted free agent looks like a baller. Could be fun to watch during preseason and training camp if there is one!
Good highlights, thanks.
DeleteThose are some pretty awesome highlights! It will be interesting to see if he looks as explosive against the big boys and with Hewey, Dewey, and Louie blocking for him. I don't see Mr Holding or Mr Injuries opening the kinds of holes we see in these clips.
DeleteEncouraging highlight clip though!
I generally like the picks. We will see how they turn out.
ReplyDeleteI guess that Elway and I have different opinions of the talent at OT and ILB. I think these positions have been a weakness since the Super Bowl win. Apparently Elway has a higher opinion of Bolles and Davis than I do. We will see how that works out too.

Kind of like a Kubiak situation behind Elway.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see we declined the option on Bolles. His last day with the team will be a good day!
ReplyDeleteI saw an interesting article that stated this on bolles but also mentioned he was the 16th ranked LT last season
ReplyDeleteThere must be some really bad LTs. So far in his career he’s been flagged 34 times for holding and has given up 15 1/2 sacks. 46 penalties total. I was actually surprised that his holding total was that low. I doubt that Wilkinson is the answer though. Our best hope is probably that having his option declined will light a fire under his ass.

ReplyDeleteChecking in
ReplyDeleteNot much going on, I'm afraid.
DeleteYep very quiet. Just staying at home keeping my head down.
ReplyDeleteStay safe everyone
ReplyDelete👍
ReplyDeleteWishing Floyd luck in his battle with Cancer.
ReplyDeleteFor sure, because cancer SUCKS!
DeleteYes it does!
DeleteMy wife just had the 14th cancer related surgery of her life and she goes in for her next chemo treatment Thursday.
DeleteIt sucks we have this conversation every couple of years about one of our spouses or family.
Sorry to hear that. Hope and pray for the best.
DeleteShe's a tough one. Chemo is a real pisser. I hope and pray for her to beat it.
ReplyDeleteWow!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a chunk of change!
That’s got to put a crimp in your salary cap for a few years. It’s going to be tough to surround him with super bowl talent at that salary.
ReplyDeleteBest QB i have ever seen
ReplyDeleteRoll call.
ReplyDeleteWho thinks there will be NFL games this year?
I say we will have games. Two weeks after the election no one will hear of covid again, no matter which party wins. How's that for a cynical outlook?!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Love it Head.
ReplyDeleteFootball news!! Broncos cleared time start summer camp on July 28! Who hoo!!!
ReplyDeleteI think and hope we will have games. I took the option to refund my season ticket money for 2020, without affecting my priority # for future years.
ReplyDeleteI will watch on TV this year. Even with a limited number of fans I don't want to be around a bunch of drunk dickheads without masks.
Cool they gave you a refund.
ReplyDeleteLooks like zero preseason games this year - so do ticket holders get a refund of any sort for 2 less games?
ReplyDeleteI think there will be games, no crowds though. A heap of players opting out which is interesting. If they have a season it may be crazy.

ReplyDeleteAnybody playing fantasy football? It's going to be a hard year to predict.
ReplyDeleteI'm game if anyone wants me in their league... some easy wins for ya'll right their!
Deletethere not their, lol!
DeleteI have been enjoying the videos of TC. Bummer about Shrad to IR.
ReplyDeleteI was hyped for the season by the blows to Miller and Sutton make it very hard. Sucks so close to the year.
ReplyDeleteI've lost pretty much all enthusiasm for the NFL this year with all the politics and crap. Miller's injury may have been the last straw for me.
ReplyDeleteMelvin Gordon, not happy with you :(
ReplyDeletePoo way to end the game, decent showing from a young team though.
ReplyDeleteI agree Gould. Poo. I think they played well, but The One penalty negating the interception really hurt and the fact that they kept snapping the ball at the end of the game with lots of time left on the play clock.

ReplyDeleteShowed good fight today, injuries not helping. Tough to start the season against 3 potential playoff teams, don't see us getting a win until the Jets. :(
Sutton ACL as well! It is going to be a rough year.
ReplyDeleteTough times to be a Bronco fan.
ReplyDelete2 weeks into the season and all seems lost.
Chiefs poised to dominate the division for the next decade.
Worried that Lock might be too injury prone.
There are many young players that provide some hope for the future.
Glad that I gave up my tickets this year. Don't want to be around a bunch of drunks without masks.
As a Patriotic American, I'm proud of the NFL for supporting the players' rights to respectfully speak out against systemic racism.
Spot on OBF.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Lock can come back and show us what he has. Otherwise we may be staring down the first pick and Trevor Lawrence.
We signed Bortles today as well, solid depth.
I don't think all is lost yet this season. I've seen many teams make the playoffs after starting out on an 0-fer run. We have looked decent and played tough against good teams. Would've been nice to win the home game, although home field doesn't have as big of impact this year.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of allowing protest during national anthem. I'm fine with doing during the kickoffs.
Rypien looked ok late, his int was bad though.
ReplyDeleteThe D was pretty solid but was put in a lot of bad spots.
Rough year continues, quick turn around with the Jets on Thursday night. We must beat them, they are a garbage team.
Digger, I won't question your optimism regarding the season or argue with it. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteOn the respectful kneeling during the National Anthem, I have talked to many Veterans and an overwhelming majority have indicated to me that they do not consider it disrespectful to kneel during the anthem to call attention to the systemic racism in the US. I didn't get to watch this week. You are correct that it depends where you get your information.
ReplyDeleteOkay I give. Casey out for year now too.
ReplyDeleteRough year continues, I hope Fant is ok.
ReplyDeleteGood to get a win but I don’t think ryipen is it.
Rypen is a backup at best. Jets are really bad. Injuries continue to ruin any chance of a decent season .
ReplyDeleteLock back, let’s have a good game against the pats.
ReplyDeleteLackluster by Lock, last 2 possessions = 2 INTs, yuck! Got the win but no TDs, McMoney and Lindsay the big producers.
ReplyDeleteGood defense kept us in it. Lock didn’t look too bad till the intercepts, his ball placement had been good all game but his receivers couldn’t make tough grabs, pats d was good in coverage. The interceptions at the end were poor reads. Good to get a good win against a team like the pats.

Not just the Broncos top lineman, among the top five in the entire NFL. Truth is, Bolles has gotten MUCH, MUCH better.
Delete😩😩🤮🤮🤬🤬

ReplyDeleteWaaaaa Hoooo!! Pretty good game after we got past the first series!
ReplyDeleteComplete team win and a better showing out of the offense. Plus it was against a rising team, good all round outing.
ReplyDeleteSay what???
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a real shot show!
ReplyDeleteOr shit show
ReplyDeleteAbout what you’d expect with no QB on the field. Probably did better than I expected!
ReplyDeleteYeah our D was good in the first half but just died in the second.
ReplyDeleteThink the Saints helped by just being run heavy and not trying to pass on us.
But the NFL fucked us. Can't move our game but can change the Ravens schedule again and for the next two weeks.
Ya, we always get the shit end of the stick, not to mention Goodell taking away our bi week for the Pats... 2020 will be rated about 20 notches BELOW the strike shortened year and Goodell hates the Broncos!
DeleteIs it time to sell the team and get an owner to represents the Broncos? Doesn't seem like the Bowlen kids are going to stop squabbling and we can't continue without representation at the highest level of the NFL or the screw jobs will continue.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the successor is going to be Brittany but all the other children will have to agree to that. But they all want to get paid (especially Beth). So sale is more than likely.
Delete:(
At this point, I really don't care who the owner is as long as 1) the team stays in Denver, 2) the new owner has enough $$$ so that $$$ is NEVER an issue in making the team competitive and 3) whoever it is isn't a jerk, ignorant about the game or running a team and winning is #1 objective.
DeleteThe way it is now, I don't like Joe Ellis, I'm tired of the family backstabbing bickering, the team has had no direction since Pat lost his mind and the Broncos are becoming a joke that gets pushed around by a clown like Goodell.
Well said, B1, well said. A bunch of rich brats trying to whine and throw tantrums to get their own way.
DeleteWin #5. 5% chance at playoffs. Haha.
ReplyDeleteSo you are saying there is a chance.
ReplyDeleteBest game out of Lock so far in his career. Made smart decisions today.
It was good. And without Fant. Can't wait for him to have Suuton, Fant and Juedy.
DeleteThis game will be a fun one!
ReplyDeleteYou know it’s bad when you’re best hope is to make it competitive!
ReplyDeleteI find myself wondering if Locks game last week will be his career best. Back closer to the Lock of old today.
ReplyDeleteOur defense is so beat up and has so many non-players on the field it’s a wonder Buffalo didn’t score even more.
Offense couldn't sustain drives, defense couldn't prevent them. Overall a bad day in the office.
DeleteLock didn't get much help today and guys struggled to get open, yes he could be better but the bills D was good today.
Well....finally I give. Next year! It's going to be different. Going to be great. You'll see.
ReplyDeleteThere's a story out about Kliza saying Elway should do everything in his power to land Trevor Lawrence or he should be gone.
ReplyDeleteThoughts?
Dont see any way in hell that the Broncos could get Lawrence, otherwise I would be all for it.
DeleteHow you feeling about Elway lately?
DeleteTime for change. Hopefully new owners first!
ReplyDeleteI think if the team goes up for sale, it could end up worse than it is now.
ReplyDeleteIt sure could, but there isn't much room to drop from where we are compared to how far we've dropped with Ellis and Elway running the show.
ReplyDeleteVery true.
ReplyDeleteMan. Just thinking back on the shit show since they took over for a sick Pat. Actually McD was before them. Crazy. Somehow we got another title squeezed in there tough.
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe the McD fiasco is what made Pat realize he was losing it!
DeleteUnfortunately there isn't another Manning out there to revive the franchise for ne more run. Maybe Rogers could do it.
ReplyDeleteMy son tells me that local radio in Denver is saying the Broncos are considering trading up to get Justin Fields.
Haha. I've really slipped. I don't even know who that is.
ReplyDeleteFields is the Ohio QB, having a good game against Clemson at the moment. Will most likely go 2nd in the draft though.
ReplyDeleteThat’s what I told my son. They’d have to move up to #2 to get him. That would be a HUGE expense and gamble.
ReplyDeleteYeah I watched.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say AGAIN this year is that it’s over.
ReplyDeleteSo Elway resigned as GM but is still President of football operations... coincidently, Kubiak announced he's retiring as the Raven's OC. Could Kubes be the next GM? Maybe Manning? Just saying those 2 because everyone else will wonder it too.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteDenver Broncos
@Broncos
John Elway has announced changes to our football operations.

Can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteSeems like a promotion/firing all in the same go. It makes sense, can't fire John outright but he needs some help. Most of the names being talked about are up and coming guys with Broncos ties that have been successful at other clubs. That isn't a bad start.
ReplyDeleteHe fired himself. With good reason. No teams will be begging him to be their GM.
ReplyDeleteI think that is speculation right now, but yeah, good fits.
This is a good first step. Now get through the trial so a new owner can come in, clean house and start a new direction for the Broncos. I'll guess Elway retires for good when the new owner comes in.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Ellis isn't extending either, so will be gone after the end of the year. That may force an ownership change.
ReplyDeleteI was down on Elway and his drafts and free agents. Kind of why we are in the cellar right now. But still I'm a little sad as we move on.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we get a good owner, a top GM, and eventually a good coach and QB.
Been a terrible five years for Bronco fans.
I've kind of lost my passion for sports during the pandemic. Got used to no sports during the time without sports.
Hopefully, the future is brighter for the Broncos.
Yep. I hear that.
DeleteI don't understand why the Broncos have become so cheap. We can only hire cheap head coaches and cheap GM's, neither having experience as a head coach or GM.
ReplyDeleteBuilding financial worth for the team by saving money for the inevitable sale?
DeleteI doubt it.
DeleteGot Patton, 6 year deal, not a cheap one and committed to him long term. Be interesting to see what happens with ownership going forward.
ReplyDeleteI’m impressed with how fast the Broncos moved. This guy sure looks good on paper!
ReplyDeleteAnybody been doing any scouting and care to share the info with me?
ReplyDeleteMaybe in a new page.
