THE MAGIC IS BACK
Well guys, after a decent 3-0 start, we've now lost 4 straight and it doesn't look to get any better anytime soon. Pat would be furious over the last several years of lousy coaching and lousy playing. We are no longer among the "elite" NFL teams and the other 31 teams look at us as a "W" or at the very least, "highly beatable".
ReplyDeleteIt's been hard to be a Bronco fan and even harder to watch them play (play may be a misnomer). Seems like the injury bug has made Denver it's primary residence and the lack of coaching, abundant front office ineptitude and non-existent quarterbacking are the prominent traits of the post-Manning Broncos.
Football season is now more about Halloween horrors and endless turkey-days with our team being the hapless victim of both events. The final 3 seasons of 9-7, 7-9 and 8-8 that got "Coach for life" Mike Shanahan fired are looking real good at this point - oh how the mighty have fallen!
Yes, I've already written off this season but my cooling orange and blue blood continues to circulate - barely, but just enough where I can still find the will to yell "Fire the fucking coach"!
I think we’re in this spot until someone buys the team and ownership changes hands. Woof!

Russell Wilson!!! Cost us an arm and a leg, but it will be great to have a real QB for however long he can stand up.
ReplyDeleteI don't really think it was an "arm and a leg". Harris had some big plays but was not dominant and was 31 years old or so, with a bigger than necessary contract. Fant has potential but has been inconsistent and disappointing. He is the one tht I hate to see go. And Lock was done here. The high first round pick this year is costly, but well worth it. I'm guessing that the 2023 1st round pick will be in late 20s or worse, hopefully. We already got a 2nd and 3rd for Miller, and might get him back.

ReplyDeleteYup, the old "black and blue" division will be more like fellowship meetings compared to what the AFCW is gonna be. Not for the faint of heart!
DeleteI know the enthusiasm for this blog has waned. Probably because our Broncos have sucked for 5 years. Maybe with the new optimism, we can get this site cranked up again,
ReplyDeleteI went to practice today. It was nothing more than a 50% walkthrough. I know with the new CBA, they cannot put pads on until practice #7, but I wish they would have announced their plans today. What a waste of time. I understand that the first 2 practices were only 75 - 90 minutes and relatively light without pads.
This is the way of the new NFL. So I learned not a damn thing and have nothing to report other than Derek Wolfe was there and got a huge reaction. He signed a one day contract and is retiring as a Bronco.
I will probably attend a few more practices. If anyone is interested, I will publish my observations here.
