Broncos vs. Tennessee Tuxedos

59 comments:

  1. Everyone must have gotten tickets to the game today! Just signed on at the end of the 1st quarter. We must have played a very sloppy quarter

  2. So far not to bad, but our D is full of back ups.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Also Passing a ton, 24 passes vs 10 runs

    ReplyDelete
  4. Wish I could watch the dang game! Not on the air here is Dallas

    ReplyDelete
  5. I take it back. Wow wow wow great kick.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Prater = Money. Nice record Prater

    ReplyDelete
  7. Head I'll give you my DirecTv account number we can save $100 on our bills and you can get every game every week... it is pretty awesome lol.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Thanks, but I bet they can control that by IP address. So was the kick wind aided, or is it officially that long??

    ReplyDelete
  9. Damn, good to finally have that record in Bronco hands again

    ReplyDelete
  10. Also interesting, 11 runs vs 38 passes!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Did DRC get hurt again? Is that why Jammer is getting embarrassed out there?

    ReplyDelete
  12. WTF is up with Bailey? He played last week, now can't go this week? Mind boggling.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Alright!! Just what we needed, a TO!

    ReplyDelete
  14. And a Miller sighting - even better. He needs to get going too.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Miller having another good game.

    ReplyDelete
  16. We've now scored over 500 points on the season with 3 games left. We could still hit 600 points. Not too shabby.

    ReplyDelete
  17. And so much for the "Peyton can't play in the cold" BStoo

    ReplyDelete
  18. No kidding HS. But let's see how he does in January in the really freakin cold weather like last year in the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I really think the glove may be making the difference. I understand he has refused to wear them in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Interesting we have run about 90 plays so far and the titans 50. On Bailey he is still hurt. The foot injury is a slightly better version than what Clady had and he is on IR, it must be tough to play on. I would be happy to shut him down the rest of the season and save him for the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Felt ugly, but ended in a blow out, but any win is a good win!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great win today. I like that we really put some points on the board.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think we should shut Bailey down for the last three games, but the problem with that is then he is rusty coming into the playoffs. We need him at his best. I'm not sure he'll be worth much the rest of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  24. sucks for the Patriots. Gronk has a torn ACL.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Bailey needs to play some these last games if he is going to play in the playoffs. He looked really rusty last week. Kind of looked like let a lot of the defensive players get some rest today. Especially in the second half. There were players getting tackles that I had forgotten were even on the team.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, I saw Woodyard played primarily on special teams and didn't play on defense.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I do like the idea of getting our reserves some playing time, but we need to make sure it isn't at the cost of winning the games. We need to win out to ensure home field throughout the playoffs. I DO NOT want to have to go to New England.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Manning is now 6 TD's away from breaking Brady's record of 50. Damn I hope he does it. I don't want Brady holding any of those records.

    ReplyDelete
  29. In case you didn't know, we have officially clinched a playoff berth.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I did see a lot of backups getting playing time on D. I think in the cold especially, small injuries happen that are not even reported. Think about colliding with another 200 to 300 pound man continuously throughout a game in freezing temperatures. That does not sound like fun. Even if it is just a broken finger or something small, I'm sure if the backup is doing alright in there the need to play every down is not as high as if it were 60 degrees. Our depth is what I am most impressed with. Was Harris on Wright all the time? Whoever was, they shut him down.

We'll be lucky if Champ is even close to what we know him as at any point this year. I have no idea what will become of him after the season is done.

    G
I think I managed to beat you for the last playoff spot unless Jefferies has a week like last week. Do you know if the other 2 playoff guys (Bill and Mark) are guys from DBtruefans?

  31. The Denver Post gave me another reason to NEVER go to their site again. A stupid pay wall! For that garbage! Gonna have to find some other place to get Broncos news, because I'm not paying the Post anything,

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ya, I needed to ask where you guys go. I mostly just read the comments though. The post can "shove it where the sun don't shine"

      Delete
  32. HS,

You can't read the articles/posts on the Denver Post? I can. I don't have to pay for it. Not sure what you are looking at there brother.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ok, so has anyone noticed that when Montee hangs onto the ball, he's actually a very good runner? The guy moves the chains and can run through walls. I hope his drops are done with. We need that kind of power in the playoffs, especially late in games. I like the idea of trying to keep Moreno fresh and spelling him with a more powerful, but still quick Ball. He just can't put it on the ground in key situations. I still cringe every time I see him with the ball in his hands.

On Moreno, he is quietly having a solid year. He has 920 yards on the season, and should get his 1,000 this week against the Chargers. He could conceivably end up with around 1,200 yards. Not a bad season at all. He's averaging 4.3 yards a carry this year. Pretty decent numbers. Plus, he's been relatively healthy, knock on wood. I just hope he makes it to the playoffs. We can't have him going down.

    ReplyDelete
  34. We still could end up with 2 WR's with 100 catches on the season. It is likely Welker will not play this week on a short week following his second concussion in 4 weeks. That means Decker and Thomas (and J Thomas) will see more balls. Decker currently has 71 catches, DT has 74 and Welker has 73. It will be a stretch, since nearly any of them will have to average nearly 10 catches a game, but it is conceivable with the way Manning is airing it out these days. Not to mention we will be facing the likes of SD (with the worst corners in the league) and Oakland. We play Houston too, which hasn't faired to well either on the defensive side of the ball. I'm eager to see if any of them can get there.

    ReplyDelete
  35. We are currently 74 points shy of NE's record for most points in a season of 589. We should be able to break that mark. I think we can average 30 points a game the remainder of the season. Even 25 gets it done, which is certainly not a stretch for this offense.

    ReplyDelete
  36. We are the first team in NFL history to have 4 different players with at least 10 TD's in a single season (DT, Welker, Moreno, and J Thomas). And we still have 3 games to go. Decker should easily get there with his 8, so we will likely have 5 players with over 10 total TD's.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Did you guys hear or read Manning's quote regarding his post game response to critics of his cold weather play?

Manning finished the Broncos' 51-28 victory with 397 yards passing and four touchdowns. Moments after the game was over, in response to a question about those who question his cold-weather play, Manning said:

“Whoever wrote that narrative can shove it where the sun don’t shine.’’

lol, I love it. Guess he was tired of hearing about it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. With Wolfe's condition, I'm guessing he probably won't play this week on a short week. We may need him, but I'd rather have him for the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I did not see that at the Post. They did not need to give me another reason, I already have had plenty of them and have only gone there once or twice in the last year. One of those was recently to read Cody's story.

    Brad
Don't you mean "Pin" instead of Montee?

    As for the backups playing.....

The Broncos benched SS Duke Ihenacho in Sunday's Week 14 win over the Titans.

After playing virtually every snap through the first 12 games of the season, Ihenacho saw just 22-of-51 snaps on Sunday. Omar Bolden stepped in at free safety while Mike Adams shifted from free to strong safety. "We wanted to look at Omar," coach John Fox said. "We took a look at some other guys a little bit to develop that throughout the rest of the season."

    ReplyDelete
  40. Bolden played a ton, he made some bad reads but he seemed really fast, I think he chased Charles down from behind, looked like he had another gear.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I was listening to the game on KOA and keeping track of the stats on the Post site. When the game ended I closed out the IE session and the n later went back in to view the final stats and a page came up that said I had used my 30 free page views for the month and if I wanted to continue reading the Post, I'd have to pay for a subscription. Screw that!! LOL

So, where do you guys get your Broncos news? The Broncos NFL site has a lot of good stories, but they are obviously slanted and many fluff pieces. KOA generally is a couple of days behind on stories (They do have of Cody's live interview up). Colo Spgs newspaper tends to run only wire stories.

I think it's great thing that they gave a lot of defenders some rest Sunday, with D'eggos coming to town on a short week. We need some people to get healthy!

    1. There ARE some great links there. Thanks, Gould

  43. It's like a hub. Just go through there to reach your true destination.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Haha that is basically what I do, I haven't updated anything on there in ages but I still use it every day to get my bronco news and connect with you fellas.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well my true destinations are here and rotoworld and there are links for both. Many times I go through there first. It's easier.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anybody know how Wolfe is shaping up for Thursday? I don't check out too many articles, I listen to 102.3 on my TuneIn app on the iPad and lightly browse the DP. Any word out yet?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Rotoworld said he would be out still.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I saw a quote where Fox said he was back with the team working out and they had a plan with the doctors to get him back playing. No mention of when.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Cody, it appears he will be limited in practice this week, but won't play as Digger said. I would expect him back next week, but that's just me. He may sit another week. Certainly no need to rush him back at this point with our remaining schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Fox said DT Derek Wolfe (illness) will begin working his way back this week after missing the past two games. ... S Rahim Moore, who underwent surgery on his lower left leg to fix a blood flow problem last month, will begin lifting weights this week in hopes he can return during the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Haha, Romo pulled for Orton. Glad he's not here anymore

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think it is total crap that a lot of NFL "experts" are still saying Seattle is the top team. They lost to Indy and the third or fourth best team in the NFC. Broncos lost to Indy and the second best team in the AFC. The gulls are overrated.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hmm...I think it is pretty close to fair. The way our D is at the moment I think we are a little overrated as well.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I was kind of pissed about that too Cody, but they did lose to a tough division rival at their house and barely lost. I do think we are a close second, but like Gould said, our defense has been shit for much of the year because of injuries and I truly believe the loss of Doom is hurting us more than we realize.

    ReplyDelete
  55. If we had all 11 of our starters available I think we are number one. But that just isn't the case. Playoffs are going to be a tough run without these guys.

    ReplyDelete
  56. So I was making my picks for the week and was very tempted to pick the Raiders to beat KC at the black hole. Most think that will be an easy win for KC. I'm not certain that will be the case. Division matchups are tough on the road. KC's record is better than what they really are.
