Broncos Vs. Chefs

83 comments:

  1. The Duke will be back. I'm glad. Adams looked terrible last week against SD. The secondary just isn't the same without Duke. Bailey is listed as doubtful, and in all probability will not play. Del Rio listed Manning as "Definite" to play. lol

  2. Hey
    Busy place.
I'm excited as heck. Big game. Glad it's at MH. I think we should probably win as long as KC defense and STs don't score. Well maybe we even survive 1 score from them. It should be a battle though for sure. I'm glad it's flexed, but then again, now I have to wait longer.

  3. So, I was looking at the side bar for the first time in a while, because I just have not had much free time for the last half of year, and noticed a couple of things Brad. 1st, I'm not sure if you think we have newbies come the site at all, but if we do, the saying by Nalen of, "Damn, now I'm on top of Rod." would seem rather odd because they would have no idea he used to be on top of Jessica. 2nd, way on the bottom there is Clady, DJ and Nalen again. Maybe we could get some new pics down there. Did I ever say how much I love the pic of Jessica?

  4. Apparently Del Rio interviewed for the USC job during the bye week. I wonder if he will try to get an NFL head coaching job before considering going to USC.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Raiders beat the Texans, and the Eagles beat the Skins. Anyone think both Kubiak and Shanahan could get fired this season?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm kind of expecting them both to go. I heard a rumor that Schneider in Washington has openly expressed interest in Baylor's head coach, so the Baylor AD and administration signed him to a 10 year contract so Schneider couldn't woo him away. If Schneider is openly talking about his next coach, it can't be good for Shanny.

  7. Inactives for tonight:

    QB Zac Dysert

    CB Champ Bailey
    CB Tony Carter

    G Chris Kuper

  8. I won't be sad if he doesn't play again this year. Bring in CJ

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hell yes. The thomas' are tearing it up. 1 down, 6 to go

    ReplyDelete
  10. We just need to avoid the stupid defensive penalties. We can't give them a new set of downs after shutting them down the first two or three snaps of each set of downs.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I guess I spoke a little too soon. Defense seemingly fell apart. No w we give them a stupid taunting penalty on 3rd and 8.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Del Rio pulled him Duke after that.

    ReplyDelete
  13. It seems like, that because the Broncos are so good, that the refs won't give them ANY calls. That push off was gross, & the receivers are continually getting bum jugged all over the place with out any calls either

    ReplyDelete
  14. Mr. Bowlen didn't pay his half of the refs pay this week. Hunt did. It seems that way at least.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well, I spose they're doing better now

    ReplyDelete
  16. Good statement drive after their TD. Good way to come back and drive it down their throat. Finally got a few penalty calls to go our way to aid the drive.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Mike Adams sucks. He had Smith sacked and he let him get away.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Come on let's get a big goal line stand!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Huge defense there at the goal line to hold them to a FG. Wow. Would have been nice to really get a fumble, but they got the call right. He was down.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Need a score on this drive, then open the can on the 1st possession of the 2nd half

    ReplyDelete
  21. It would be really nice to get a TD here and then another after the half.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Damn it Prater. Gotta make that FG.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It seems to me that the play calls are all over the place. Thomas has to catch that

    ReplyDelete
  24. Damnit. Shitty drive there. Guys have to hang onto the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Need some big defense here to start the half now.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I have to give Adams props since I've been on him a lot lately. He had McCluster covered really well there.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Stupid ass penalty negated a big first down.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Alright, we need to put a drive together here and get a TD. Enough of this letting them hang around crap.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Time for a take away right now. The d needs to put this away

    ReplyDelete
  30. Smart penalty to me. I'll take a hold there to keep PM upright. If your beat that thoroughly sometimes you gotta grab em.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Very good field position. We need to do something with this now.

    ReplyDelete
  32. TD Ball! That's it guys. A 14 point lead.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Run DRC is playing at a super high level this year. What a great pick up

    ReplyDelete
  34. Is Collingsworth getting paid by KC, or what?? STFU about the Chiefs and call the game ya bozo!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Alright guys. Starting to dominate this game. Going to start pulling away now I think.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ball looking very good when he gets a solid grip on the ball tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Watch the damn ball defense. Jeez alou

    ReplyDelete
  38. No kidding. Tough fought game here tonight. We just need to run this clock out and move the ball doing it. Come on. Throw the damn ball.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Looks like that could be the game boys.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 1st place in the West baby and first round bye earned back.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I have to give the O Line credit. They played up to the challenge tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Other than all the damn illegal motion penalties.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Its over boys! 9-1 and in first place!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Big win tonight guys. I'm out.....

    ReplyDelete
  45. Great game by the o line tonight. Game ball to those five.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That was a great game to watch. Both defenses came to the party. I give KC credit their defense is for real, they just need to sort out their offense.

Big credit goes to the O-line for keeping Manning clean. This was a good physical football game. It will be tougher though in two weeks time.

    Anyway onto the Pats!

  47. Broncos FS Rahim Moore (leg) has been diagnosed with lateral compartment syndrome.

It's a very serious issue, one that could have led to Moore's leg being amputated had the Broncos not acted quickly. Moore is expected to miss "several weeks," with the Denver Post reporting injured reserve is a possibility. Mike Adams will fill in at free safety.

    Damn that is crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  48. That is crazy. And now it looks like Welker could be doubtful for Sunday. You don't want to go into Foxboro short handed...

    ReplyDelete
  49. I got anterior & posterior (front & back) compartment syndrome in my lower leg after surgery to put a rod in after breaking my leg. Rahim more than likely experienced more pain than I did though, since I was still all drugged up.

There is a thin membrane that encompasses each muscle, and once the muscle has swelled to a point that it can no longer expand, it creates large pressures, cuts off circulation and can deprive other areas of the body of blood & oxygen.

They cut open the skin and then that thin membrane and let the muscle spill out & breath. They closed me up after about 5 days, and it took another 6 weeks or so for the skin to heal up. But I think that he may have a little better time line because not only was my body trying to heal multiple fractures, but the doctors also had to do a skin graft on one of my cuts (which now looks like a vagina that covers 3/4 of my shin).

Sorry, I get excited about this since they're pretty rare

    ReplyDelete
  50. Haha vaginas on the shin are pretty rare.

    Thanks for explaining it Brant.

    1. There is just a LOT of potential material to work with in that analogy. I think I'll refrain.

      Delete
  51. Wow, interesting but sounds painful. Looks like we may sign Michael Huff as a replacement.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think I'd rather had Ed Reed than Michael Huff, but since he's gone... Next man up!

    ReplyDelete

  53. Broncos signed S Michael Huff.

Huff's three-year, $6 million deal with the Ravens was considered a nice bargain for the defending Super Bowl champs, but he struggled to get on the field in Baltimore. When he did, he performed poorly. Huff was waived in October. He'll be mere depth in Denver. Huff's signing is an indication Rahim Moore (leg) is headed to injured reserve. For now, Mike Adams is stepping in at free safety. Perhaps Huff will eventually push him.

    and

Broncos placed FS Rahim Moore (lateral compartment syndrome) on injured reserve/designated to return.

Moore's regular season is over, but he'll have a chance to return if the Broncos make the AFC Championship Game. Moore's injury — essentially internal bleeding in his leg — required emergency surgery early Monday morning. An every-down player before getting hurt, the 23-year-old Moore was in the midst of a workmanlike campaign. He was playing very well in coverage. Veteran Mike Adams will take his place in the starting lineup, while Michael Huff is taking his roster spot.

  55. Looks like the Cheaters are gong to be down three defensive starters for the game Sunday. Dennard, Gregory and probably Arrington. Sucks for them, but we'll have our own problems with Moore and Champ gone.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm not thrilled with Adams replacing Moore, but he is a serviceable vet. He stepped in for Duke when he was out too.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Champ being out was speculation on my part, since he hasn't taken part in a full practice since he left the game with his foot re injured. I haven't seen anything official. Not sure I want him making his comeback debut against Brady.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Replies
    1. I don't think I'd move him mid season without the chance to practice there. Now if he's been studying and practicing while he's been recovering, then maybe.

      Delete
  59. Manning, JThomas, and Wes Mantooth didn't practice yesterday. We should know more today about the status of Wes's concussion and his availability to play on Sunday. He will surely want to be on the field, and we will need him to win this game.

    ReplyDelete
  60. All three players returned to practice today. Welker participated on a limited basis, but it bodes well for his chances of playing on Sunday night.

    ReplyDelete
  61. From what I read though, J Thomas was noticeably limited in practice. He may not be ready to go, which would really suck. Although it might be better for Tamme or Dreessen to play because we may need to keep an extra blocker in against NE.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Welker is listed as probable to face the Patsies on Sunday night. Thomas is still listed as questionable and Del Rio was non-committal as to his chances of playing. That may actually work in our favor since it will allow us to keep one of the other blocking TE's in to protect Manning's blind side. I just hope that is the route we decide to take. They always seem to blitz the crap out of us and they get to our QB. We need to slow them down and allow Manning is time to get rid of the ball. They probably can't plan man coverage against our WR's. I'm not sure there is anybody who can adequately cover all three of them. Indy did a decent job, but they were mugging our WR's the entire game and nothing was called. Last week, the refs were calling every ticky-tack penalty. I wish there was more consistency. Especially in such meaningful games. Just let the guys play, and call the blatant penalties.

I do hope Julius plays because he adds another dimension to the offense, but it might be better if he didn't. I'm torn. Can you tell?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Patsies have four DB's listed as questionable. Talib will try to play on a bum leg. Denard will probably not play and the other two (Gregory and Arrington) are the best bets of the four to play. Talib didn't finish the game against the Panthers.

I loved seeing NE lose and get screwed big time, but I do have to admit they got hosed.

    ReplyDelete
  64. And they have three D linemen, including Wilfork and LB Mayo out for the year. That has to put a crimp in their pass rush. Maybe this will be the week Knowshon gets 100+ rushing.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I think Knowshon will have a good day. I read that him and Decker will have the most favorable projections as far as fantasy stats this week anyway due to NE's injuries and Julius Thomas maybe sitting this one out.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Good morning fellas...I've been off the radar for a while. Hope everyone is doing well.

Huge game tonight! And I too Digger, hopes that Moreno has a good game. But also, I hope that Ball will stay disciplined and hold onto the ball and not make any mistakes.

But also, I want to our D break out and be up Brady's ass all night long!

It's a big game with a lot of implications! I think if we can hang and beat NE...we definitely can roll into KC and handle business there as well

    ReplyDelete
  67. GM Rocky. I don't really hope for being on Brady's butt all night as much as I want the D to actually score points. Adequate pressure on Brady will help that though, you're right. KC's D is ranked #1 because plain and simple they score. I'm not talking fantasy football per se, but that is what seems to get noticed. I think after last week our D is every bit as good as KC's, we just don't quite get as many scores. Something happens half the time. A penalty, or dropping the ball before they cross the goal line, haha. Holiday needs to field the ball clean and take one to the house this week as well.

    ReplyDelete
  68. It is difficult to get pressure and get to Brady since he gets rid of the ball so quickly and usually runs a lot of the short passing routes to keep the pressure off. The key will be covering his TE's. I'm not terribly worried about their WR's, because we've done a pretty good job on WR's this year. It will be the TE's that may ultimately cause us problems. If Gronk has a big game, it could be trouble for us. We can't let him run wild over the middle of the field. I don't think Mike Adams can cover him adequately. Del Rio better have something up his sleeve on defense. Offensively, we can't keep this conservative BS up that we've been running the past few weeks. It seemed like we were trying to control the clock instead of just scoring. I know we need to demonstrate that we can run the ball late in the season, but if we are moving the ball and scoring points like crazy, who gives a shit IMO.
