Broncos at Chiefs, Take 2

  1. Thanks Digger. We are having a great time. Getting ready to start heading home tomorrow so I will miss the game unfortunately.

  2. Looks life Wolfe is being hospitalized for some illness and did not travel to KC. Bailey and Moreno will play, and DRC and Julius Thomas appear questionable, with DRC expected to play.

  3. Champ didn't make it long. I wonder what they're going to do with him

  4. Hope it is a relatively easy game next week so we can get some guys rested up and back before the playoffs. Our defense was too shaky there at the start. And our pass rush has pretty much deserted us. Hopefully we'll have some D players back next week.

  5. I got a game ball on a Decker td. It was amazing.

  6. Was that you Cody!!! Nice.

Ahahaha @Digger, I doubt that put him down. He did play the whole first half but I don't remember seeing him in the second. They were trying to ease him back but.

On pass rush, I thought Jackson had a hell of a game, same as Von. Both put a heap of pressure on Smith. If it wasn't for holds and Smith showing some real balls they each would have had some sacks.

Now at least we have an easy run to the finish.

  7. Wolfe released from hospital today. Two players with unexplained seizures on the same team in back to back years. Makes you wonder if there is something in the water at dove valley! Someone lacing the water with 100% DEET or something?? Some chemical they use on the practice field?? Something very odd going on.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Digger,

lol put him down. That's funny as shit man.

    HS,

Maybe they were too close to Bowlen's sock when the seizures happened. Who knows. That was really strange.

    Cody,

Very nice man! Congrats. I'd mount that thing. You have to get him to sign that thing!

On Bailey, Rotoworld was saying he was benched.

Overall, great win. Not a great game, but huge win. I wasn't able to watch it since I was driving back from Disney World, but my wonderful wife was kind enough to read me the play by play off ESPN Gamecast from her phone while I was driving so I knew what was going on. I don't care what anyone says, Moreno was limited by his ankle in the run game. He hasn't burned anyone all season until last week, but he's been solid and Mr. Reliable. Yesterday he couldn't run at all. He had to be bothered by it. Decker had a huge game.

Overall, we should clinch the division with 2 wins or combination of us winning and KC losing since we effectively have a 2 game lead. They have to win out and we'd have to lose 2 of our final 4 games to lose the division. If we win out, we should have home field advantage again, which means NE would have to come into our house for once to play.

  9. I got a few picks of the ball and a couple of pregame on my facebook. I'm Cody Leonard and Broncody@hotmail.com if you wanna check it out, feel free to friend me as well.

  10. I tried finding you on facebook, but couldn't. What town do you live in? Dallas Center?

Brad, Bowlen's sock in the water could be the culprit to giving the players seizures. LOL. To funny. They doubt Wolfe man will play this week either.

  11. OK I think I sent a friend request. That is if your profile pic is a couple of cute redheaded kids.

  12. Those are cool pics Cody. Thanks for sharing. I got to watch a replay of him giving it to you though.

  13. On a very positive note, USC has hired a coach. So Del Rio is out of the running. Maybe he stays after all?

    ReplyDelete
  14. That's great news Brad.

Here it is I think Cody.

    1. The tape stops before you see much else, but was the dude in the red trying to knock it out of your hands or how hard did he try to get it away from you? Assume from the red you were setting between two Chiefs fans - how much grief did you get?

  17. Cody, you could be Knowshon's backup before the end of the season!

    1. I am currently a free agent, I would work for a minimum contract lol.

  18. Yeah that was quite something that's for sure. Right on DB.com. He really secured that thing didn't he Head. I wish Ball would do that.
Speaking of Ball, he had some awesome runs the other day. He was like a pinball on a couple of them. Maybe that could be his new nickname, Pin Ball.

    1. Pin Ball - I like it! Better trademark that, Woody or Klis will start using it. We all know they read this board regularly....

  19. Brad I see we are on at about the same time. That doesn't happen much anymore.
On what you said above about we would have to lose 2 of the last 4 to lose the division, I think the losses would have to be division losses. I don't see that happening. Maybe we lose 1 more game, but I doubt it. Tenn and SD are at Denver and may not be as easy as they sound, but I see wins there. We close with 2 on the road against 2 very weak teams. Sweeping the division two years straight would be awesome. Oakland may have something to say about that in the black hole though.

  20. Three of us on the board at the same time and its not a game day. Unheard of.

    ReplyDelete
  21. How's going Head? I think Brad left for other sites. I was too.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Me three... I am actually "working" right now. Break time LOL

  23. That big dude was on my back swatting at it for a good thirty seconds. Just yelling "GIVE ME THAT BALL" repeatedly. At one point I seriously considered flipping him over my back and onto the field but I was worried the police there would take my ball. So I just shouted profane objections back to him.

The Cheifs fans were a bit jealous but it isn't my fault they weren't rocking Bronco gear...

  24. Guess I'll be on 850 KOA tomorrow morning to tell my story. I got the gameball Sunday and my Grandpa passed away monday, I emailed Klis to tell Decker thank you for me and I guess he passed the message along to Steffan Tubbs who does a morning show and he asked me to be on. Crazy week. Crazy.

  25. How cool is that??! Do you get to go down to the station, or is this a phone deal? What time, or is there set time? Might see if I can get it on the net at work if I know when.

That could put you a step closer to getting it signed too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Klis has your email up on the post!!

  27. Over the phone, I'm in Iowa, I'm expecting the call at 7:20 CST

  28. Had to go back and read it again. A really touching story.

Did you see who the first comment was from? He was an early regular poster on this board.

  29. Yeah DynamicDave, miss him around here

  30. Listened to you on the KOA radio show and saw you and Ella on their facebook page. Very cool. I made a comment and threw in the name of the blog. Maybe more people will come see how special it is.

  31. Just checked out the Facebook page. Awesome man, Awesome!

  32. Wow, Houston sucks big time. I don't see how Kubiak doesn't get fired.

Dynamic Dave, now that's a name I haven't heard in quite some time. He hasn't been here for years.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Dave was kind of a strange cat with his batman signoffs. Good guy though as far as I could tell on a blog. I fell out of touch with him. I might still have an e-mail that could work.

  34. Anyone else a little irritated that Baltimore is currently in the lead for the final wildcard spot? I don't like the thought of them being in the playoffs. They always seem to give us fits, regardless of where we are playing. We could very well end up playing them again for our first game in the playoffs.

They have a tough remaining schedule though with Minnesota, Detroit, New England and Cincinnati.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I can't say I paid attention Brad. Now that you mention it though, No, I'd rather have Baltimore make it in than Pittsburg or San Diego. Miami is tied with Balt at 6-6 right now. 4 games left is a long way to go. Remember when we only had to win one of our last 4 to be in and couldn't do it? Oh man! Much more fun now.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I just read how Kubes said Shaub was a true pro and how he did well in relief of Keenum. Shaub did exactly the same shit that got him canned in the first place. They are now front runners for Bridgewater and firing Kubiak would be a mistake IMO. But then since when do they listen to me?

  38. Reply does not work for me again. Anyway reply to Head.
I hate that. He looked so hurt. I don't see him having any demand as a HC. Maybe Shanny has room for him.

    1. I wouldn't mind seeing Kubes back in Denver as an offensive assistant or a similar role.

Thank you Digger, the funeral went well, my daughters sat pretty quietly thankfully. Honestly I'm glad to have it done with now. I'm not fond of social situations but obviously I had to be there with my extended family, and I'm not overly comfortable accepting condolences, most of the time I don't find them comforting, productive, or desired, but I do recognize the intent behind them so I can appreciate that.

I am ready to get to the point where you just share stories with family whose name you know, not third and fourth cousins and friends of Aunt's exhusbands and all that.

BAAAACK to football. I feel like I am completely overlooking the Titans. I feel like J Charles is what Johnson wishes he was and they just aren't up to par as a team. Me thinking that scares me, because that seems like the type of game that comes back and bites a team. Any given Sunday...

    Good.
I hear you on the extended family part.

I think everyone may be overlooking Tenn. They are not a gimme. They are 5-7 and right in the playoff hunt. Fitz is doing good at QB and Wright is a good WR. Walker out helps. Johnson can still put up great numbers at times though. I don't think we will put up our usual 35+ points in the cold this week. So.... is 30 enough? I could see Tenn. possibly putting up 27 or so on our D. Maybe we need a last second FG by Prater in this one.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I miss Elam. Prater is solid but when Elam came out to win a game I always believed it was going in.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Have you guys seen the Ron Burgundy interview with Peyton yet?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Saw that digger, hilarious!

I didn't realize Tenn had such a strong pass defense, but - they haven't played Denver yet either, so their stats may take a beating.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Titans pass D is so good because teams run all over them :P

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ya - that too. But one of their corners has a bunch if picks. Here's hoing Ball and Moreno each have 150 yd games.
